Orientation:
Upon arrival, all program participants attend an orientation, introducing students to contemporary South African history, economics and culture. This program also covers practical items such as safety, health care, housing and a schedule of events for the semester.
Accommodation:
Housing, which is included in the program fee, is provided for students in comfortable, upscale furnished apartments or guesthouses with 24-hour security and wireless Internet access.
Social Programs:
Connect-123 organizes numerous social and cultural events for students each semester. These activities may include climbing Table Mountain, cycling in the Cape Point nature reserve, touring wineries and camping on overnight trips.
We also link students each semester with a variety of township-based community service projects. Opportunities include tutoring children, mentoring high school students, volunteering at health care clinics and helping to build houses for the homeless.
