Make a difference by taking part in an exciting new initiative introducing a Child Life Volunteer Program to South Africa’s largest pediatric hospital.

The Pilot Child Life program has already made a tramendous impact at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital (RCCH) and has the potential to greatly enhance pediatric health care services offered accross South Africa.

There are opportunities available for child life and hospital play students and professionals  to provide positive interactions with children and caregivers offering an integrated approach to child health care service delivery. Durations of volunteer involvement typically run from two to six months.

The Connect-123 Child Life Team in Action

Volunteers will be working as an integral part of a multidisciplinary medical team under the wing of the hospital’s Pain Management Unit.  Applying Child Life principles to practice in this riveting medical setting, volunteers will have an emense opportunity for personal and professional growth as well as provide comort and support to hospitalized children with lasting benefits.
