Spring Semester: Experiencing Entrepreneurship

This program is a hands-on, one of a kind experience in the challenges of entrepreneurship as well as the special opportunities present in emerging markets. Working in teams, students start their own small business in Cape Town using real seed capital, where they are given the opportunity to experiment and take risks – within a safe environment.

Students are required to take the specially designed core course, Experiencing Entrepreneurship, as well as two additional courses: Business in Context, which addresses the triple bottom line issues of planet, people, and profit, and Entrepreneurial Strategies, where students learn the principles of strategic management within an African context.

2008 Program dates: early February to late June
Application deadline: October 15, 2008
Fee: $11,950. The program fee includes tuition, housing, orientation, health insurance and select social events throughout the semester. It does not include airfare, books, food, or local transport.
