My first international volunteer experience was through Connect123. I spent a month in Barcelona as a monitor at a children’s summer camp. The first week was tough adjusting to the country and language, the schedule and the kids. But after that it was full steam ahead!

During the entire month Connect-123 was there to provide support if necessary, fortunately the assignment they found for me was excellent! It was a great match! The other camp monitors and the camp coordinator, were very friendly and genuinely nice people. There was good team spirit at the camp and I was proud to be part of it!!

Thanks to my volunteer work my Spanish is now more fluent, I am familiar with the Catalán culture and food and have many new friends! I recommend entrusting Connect-123 with your volunteer placement. It’ll be an unforgettable growing experience!
