Imagine living and working overseas — and getting academic credit for it! Connect-123 participants are able to earn credit for their international experiences in two ways.
Your College or University
Many institutions and majors offer academic credit for international internships and volunteer placements. Often all you have to do is ask! Your academic advisor should be able to confirm if your institution offers this option, and you can work with your Connect-123 advisor to determine the exact requirements and procedure for receiving credit. We regularly work with schools on this issue and can often provide required paperwork or evaluations.
Connect-123 School of Record
We are delighted to offer academic credit for our international internships and volunteer placements through a partnership with our school of record, Fairleigh Dickinson University.
FDU offers all Connect-123 participants an opportunity to earn 3 graded transfer credits by enrolling in our online course, Global Internship.
Here are the details:
- Once you are accepted to the Connect-123 program, you can elect to enroll in our concurrent course, Global Internship. You are automatically qualified for the course based on your acceptance into Connect-123, and the additional cost, including transcript, is $785.
- The course provides strategies to identify and express stages of personal and professional growth throughout your experience abroad. Along with a variety of learning activities – videos, readings, and reflective writing assignments – the course culminates with a reflective essay.
- Upon completion, you will be issued a transcript with 3 graded transfer credits that you can submit to your institution.
