Youth Development and Sports Internships

Youth Development and Sports interns in Cape Town will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a key segment of the population. South Africa’s youth comprises an estimated 40% of the overall population and 70% of the country’s unemployed. Other than jobs scarcity, which is arguably the greatest challenge of all, those working in this field battle with issues such as HIV/Aids, substance abuse, inadequate access to education and skills development, and a general lack of civic engagement and social integration. However Cape Town schools and nonprofits strive to tackle these obstacles with team and confidence building workshops, mentoring youth in prison, combining soccer and basketball with life skills training and other initiatives – which international youth development interns can add value to.
