Meet Paula Carrettoni, Buenos Aires Program Coordinator!
By Katie Arango
Get to know your Connect-123 Team! Here’s an interview with Buenos Aires Program Coordinator, Paula Carrettoni.
Describe your role at Connect-123:
I am a Program Coordinator at Connect-123 Buenos Aires. I look after placements in a variety of areas, including, among others, health care, education, social work, human rights, law and journalism. I also look for housing options for all the interns and volunteers in Buenos Aires.
Where are you from originally?
I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina – born and raised!
Name an awesome Buenos Aires weekend activity:
Hanging out with friends and going to a concert is one of the best weekend activities! There is always a local band or an international artist playing in any corner of the city. Before or after your day out you can’t beat having a delicious barbecue, better known as asado.
Name your top 3 most visited websites:
www.infobae.com – Everything I need to know regarding news is here! It’s a great way to stay informed because, as opposed to many news sources these days, it has a fairly neutral and unbaised political perspective.
www.despegar.com.ar – I love travelling and this is the perfect website to compare flight and hotel prices and discover beautiful destinations.
facebook.com – The best way to interact with friends that are far away!
Favorite dessert:
Chocotorta a dessert made with chocolate cookies, dulce de leche and cream cheese.
Name one of your guilty pleasures:
Lying on my bed, with my electric blanket, watching marathons of TV shows – mostly American dramas.
Most memorable trip you’ve ever taken:
The most memorable trip I’ve ever taken was a 2-year trip to Europe and Asia. I worked and traveled in amazing cities. I made lots of friends and discovered new cultures and my newest passion: photography.
18 hours is a long time to be in a bus. Was it at least one of those luxury buses with the reininclg seats that I have read about in Argentina or was it just you’re average rickety bus? What did you do for the whole 18 hours. I figure you didn’t sleep much. I never do when I’m traveling.Puerto Madryn looks beautiful if you’re photo is anything to go by. Is it a resort town by the water or just your typical Argentine town or is it too early to tell just yet?
