Tourism and Hospitality Internships in Cape Town
Cape Town is a tourism and hospitality intern’s dream. Recently voted Trip Advisor’s No. 1 Destination after a survey of 45 million travelers, Cape Town certainly does have a lot going for it as a tourist destination. Table Mountain National Park alone receives 4.2 million visits per year, and the Winelands, and stunning beaches also play their part in attracting domestic and international visitors. Much of Cape Town’s tourism is sport-based, with two events in the sporting calendar attracting significant numbers – the Argus Cycle Tour (35,000) and the Two Oceans Marathon (25,000) – as well as one-offs such as the FIFA World Cup 2010, and year round sporting activities like golf contributing. Previous tourism and hospitality interns have been given access to opportunities in the hotel, backpacking, adventure and eco-tourism sector.
